Questions

What is this, exactly?: Chief is a chief of staff that lives inside the AI assistant you already use. You install it once over MCP, and from then on every new chat already knows you, your work, and what you're trying to get done.
How does it work?: MCP is a standard that lets AI assistants talk to outside tools. Chief uses it to connect Claude or ChatGPT to your own memory, decisions, and task board. So when you open a new chat, the AI already has the context it needs — without copy-pasting files or re-explaining yourself.
What does it cost?: Nothing. This is a private beta and it's free for the people I've invited. There's no card, no plan to pick, and nothing to cancel.
What do I need?: Your own AI account — Claude or ChatGPT — and about ten minutes. Chief runs on your account and your tokens.
What's the recommended setup?: Claude Cowork with at least a Pro plan. Max is optimal — more usage headroom means Chief can do longer, deeper work without hitting limits mid-task. ChatGPT works too, but Claude Cowork is where Chief feels best.
Who pays for the tokens?: You do — through your existing Claude or ChatGPT subscription. Chief connects to the AI account you already pay for, so there's no separate usage bill from me and no metering here. If you hit your plan's limits, that's between you and your AI provider.
How long does setup take?: A few minutes. You answer five questions, and the thank-you page right after gives you your connection address and the one command to install Chief — you can be up and running immediately.
Is it rough around the edges?: It's a beta, so yes, in places. That's the point — tell me what breaks and what's missing. Just reply to any email from me.
